We quite literally breathe underwater photography… and love any opportunity to help make taking incredible pictures underwater all the easier and more fun.
Our goal is to give you the knowledge, techniques and confidence when you need it… underwater. If you are stuck with blue or washed out colours, are at a loss with how to use lighting or just not sure how to get the best results out of your camera, contact us! We can help you take photos underwater that you are proud to share.
“If you want to start u/w photography or just brush up on your skills then Mario is the guy to do it for you. Expertise coupled with patience allows you to learn at your pace, thoroughly recommend!!”
We pride ourselves on creating underwater photography courses for you. After all, improving your photos is what we are here for! Our approach is specific to the equipment you already own, not what you think you should own. By the end of a course, you will know which buttons to press when the time for that chance encounter comes. Find out more today.
Our courses offer both “dry” classroom and pool sessions so you can really consolidate the skills you have learnt. Practising in and out the water in a calm, controlled environment means you really will know which buttons to press. So you can look forward to each dive with confidence.
We will guide you from holding a camera for the first time to a professional looking result. We will make sure you have high quality training materials in a variety of formats.
Why not take a moment to meet the reef, our custom built photography stage used in pool sessions!
We have carefully crafted a range of courses for all photographic experience levels, compacts through to SLR rigs. These have evolved out of our experiences as underwater photographers and handling cameras, day in day out. Each course is designed to address a specific aspect of underwater photography. Together these are the elements that have helped us improve as underwater photographers. And that means we use real examples of our successes… and failures! Meet the team today!
Photography workshops are the ideal way to travel with like minded photographers to world class diving destinations.
They are aimed at anyone interested in underwater photography. And learning how to take better pics. It’s not about needing to have “all the gear” or thousands of dives. Mario has used just about every camera on the market, and the quality of the pics has much more to do with how well you know your camera – and what it can do – than how much you have spent!
If you’ve never taken a photo underwater, are just getting interested in underwater photography, or feel frustrated with past efforts, then this is the workshop for you. The main goal is to show you how to get the most from the kit you have so you can take better pics from day one. From there on it’s an upwards curve! Move on from the odd lucky shot to knowing how to replicate your success on each and every dive.
It’s also important to stress that these trips are not a competition. The atmosphere on board is intentionally kept relaxed. We are all there for the same thing… to enjoy our diving and to take better photos. Pure and simple.
Mario has a thorough understanding of modern camera systems and their use underwater; he is ideally placed to advise photographers on equipment that may initially seem complex. His own photography is grounded in a comprehensive knowledge of the principles that underpin light in the sea, which he presents in a series of informal talks that will prove useful to anyone with an underwater camera. His knowledge of Red Sea reefs, in particular, gives workshop participants a fuller insight into the layers of life and colour awaiting them. After years of guiding divers, he has a love for the sea evident in his own photography, and the way he communicates this passion to his guests.
